Qatar

Registering as a nurse in Qatar from overseas involves several steps, including meeting eligibility requirements, gathering necessary documentation, and passing required exams. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the process:

1. Ensure Eligibility

Before starting the registration process, ensure that you meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Educational Qualifications: You must have a recognized nursing degree or diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of two years of post-qualification clinical experience is generally required.
  • Language Proficiency: English language proficiency is required. If your education was not in English, you may need to provide proof through exams like IELTS or TOEFL.

2. Gather Required Documents

Prepare the following documents for submission:

  • Passport Copy: A valid passport with at least six months of validity.
  • Nursing Degree/Diploma: Certified copies of your nursing qualification.
  • Transcripts: Official transcripts from your nursing school.
  • Work Experience Certificate: Proof of your nursing experience, ideally on official letterhead.
  • Good Standing Certificate: Issued by the nursing regulatory body in your home country, confirming you have no pending disciplinary actions.
  • Health Clearance: A medical fitness certificate, including tests for communicable diseases.
  • Passport-sized Photographs: Recent photographs that meet size requirements.
  • Professional License: A valid nursing license from your home country.
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate: Proof of current certification in CPR or First Aid, if required.

3. Apply for Primary Source Verification (PSV)

  • Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) requires all documents to be verified by the DataFlow Group.
  • Visit the DataFlow Group website, create an account, and submit your documents for Primary Source Verification (PSV).
  • Pay the applicable fees for verification.

4. Create an Account on the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) Portal

  • Visit the QCHP e-Registration portal and create an account.
  • Complete your profile with the required personal and professional information.

5. Submit Your Application for Licensing

  • Log in to your QCHP account and start your licensing application.
  • Upload all required documents, including your verified documents from the DataFlow Group.
  • Pay the application fees online.

6. Take the Prometric Exam (if required)

  • The Prometric Exam is a requirement for nursing registration in Qatar. It assesses your clinical knowledge and readiness to practice.
  • Schedule your exam through the Prometric website.
  • Prepare using available study resources, and ensure you pass the exam.

7. Application Review by QCHP

  • Once your application and exam results are submitted, QCHP will review your application.
  • They may request additional documentation or information if needed.

8. Receive Your Nursing License

  • If your application is approved, you will be granted a nursing license to practice in Qatar.
  • You will receive a certificate and license number that allows you to work legally as a nurse in Qatar.

9. Secure a Job Offer and Work Visa

  • With your nursing license in hand, you can apply for nursing positions in Qatar.
  • Once you receive a job offer, your employer will assist you with the work visa application and other immigration formalities.

10. Arrival and Onboarding

  • Upon arrival in Qatar, complete any required medical examinations and submit necessary documents to local authorities.
  • Your employer will guide you through the final steps, including orientation and onboarding, before you begin your nursing career in Qatar.
