Step 2
Recognition Procedure
Application form to be received on Applicant portal to be sent back with all necessary documents and fee receipts on the address mentioned by Swiss Red Cross
The recognition procedure only starts once we have received the complete application dossier with all the documentation and the invoice has been paid. From that point, it takes up to four months before an initial decision is made.
Step 3
Recognition Decision
Your complete application has been submitted to SRC you will then receive a preliminary decision within four months. The decision can either be that your qualifications have been recognized or that you need to complete compensatory measures. If compensatory measures are needed, the procedure will take longer to complete.
Without direct recognition
Your qualification has been recognized. You do not need to complete any other qualifications and no compensatory measures are necessary.
With compensatory measures
We cannot yet recognize your qualification. You must undergo compensatory measures. When we inform you of the decision, we will also inform you what compensatory measures are needed.
How much foreign qualification recognition costs?
The following costs apply:
- 550 Swiss franc if your qualification in nursing or midwifery complies with the EU requirements. You will receive one invoice.
- 930 Swiss franc if no compensatory measures are required. You will receive two partial invoices.
- 1,000 Swiss franc if compensatory measures are required. You will receive two partial invoices.
- Depending on the profession, an additional 130 Swiss franc may be charged for registration with GesReg / NAREG, the National Register of Healthcare Professions.
The recognition process is undertaken on behalf of the Swiss government on a non-profit basis with fees charged only to cover costs. The costs are incurred as follows:
- administrative work
- analysis, research and evaluation of the dossier by an expert
- management of the professional register
- infrastructure
- entry into GesReg / NAREG register
Note:
Are compensatory measures required for recognition? This will incur some additional costs. You will be invoiced directly for these costs by the providers of the compensatory measures.
